3rd period – we are going to have a quiz on everything that we talked about today.  it literally will be the exact same quiz we did in class.

4th period we will have a quiz on modes.  you will have to write them.  i will then play two for you to ID.  Symone, if you are reading this and e-mail me tonight you will get an “A” on the quiz.

6th period the homework is due on friday – e-mail if you have a question.  1st page of unit 2 as well as the write up on queen, lyrics, and intro to cuban music (watch the rumba clip).

8th period does anyone actually look at this?  if you raise your hand and ask to sing on friday then you will get 20 pts extra credit.

3rd period @ girls soccer!

3rd period we are going to play for the soccer game @ 4 pm. please arrive in the band room at 3 pm.  we will stay until half-time.  more details to be announced.  tell everyone.

Dear Students,

My soul was moved and heart warmed to hear the soulful and engaging sounds from Ghanaian and Brazilian cultures. By now, most of you have probably learned that music was a form of communication in most African and Latin American countries. Similarly, it was used as a tool for gathering family, friends, and even foes. I am so glad to know that you have embraced diverse cultures which represent only a fraction of our students’ roots. You were absolutely A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I am still trying to figure out how Mr. Flygt got everyone to clap, sing, rock and drum on beat for seven unique selections. Thank you for your hard work and dedication in continuing our school’s tradition of excellence in the Music Department.

end of spring break 2012!

hello everyone!!

i trust your break was amazing!!  i had a productive and relaxing break.

i can’t wait for the concert this thursday!!  it is going to be a lot of fun!

• reminder for rehearsal monday and tuesday immediately after school.  the sooner we get there, the sooner we will be done.
• this is the only time we will have to practice “hold me…” with everyone
• this is the only time we will have to practice the dance medley with everyone
