nani concert make up and more

hello!

if you missed the nani concert your make-up will be a 3-page typed paper discussing the entire life of Fela Kuti.  It will be due wednesday (6/8).  12 point font.  be sure to discuss his most popular record, his entire scope of influence, and his impact of being a multi-instrumentalist.

Another great day?!

Wow!! That rehearsal was spectacular!! Could you feel it!! I feel so good right now. Partially because I just ate 3 sundae cones but also I am having so much fun making music with you all!!!! 

Huge shout out to everyone in every class. Special huge slamma jamma to my main man deshawn Roberts (@darealdeshawnnumbahone) for singing lead like A BOSS! And @darius for coming to rehearsal! And Jocelyn for holding down the bell.

nani is here! day 1

hello all!

thank you for another great first day!  i think this concert will certainly be one for the record books!  #yeahbaby!

there is a mandatory gahu rehearsal wednesday afterschool.  if the weather is nice enough we will be outside.  should run 3:30-4:15 at the ABSOLUTE LATEST!

practice your music and sing!

a few thoughts:

nani did say that he was going to put every ounce of his blood in his whole body into the music and you (the students) so get ready.  today is a monday and i know they are hard but please think about some of the things we are trying to do.  yes – overall we are doing some interesting things! but take a look around, take a good luck around: only 4 more days.  there will always be an excuse not to do something.  some time when you wake up there will not be any more time left to try all of the things you want to do.  nani has done a lot for me since i first met him in 2006 but the biggest thing he has done for me is challenged the way i think about music.  can you make it groove so hard that EVERYONE wants to dance AND KEEP DANCING!  can you put so much energy into a single performance that all you want to do after is fall-asleep immediately.  can you sing and play so emotionally that you inspire those around you to the best of their abilities!  THOSE ARE THE QUESTIONS I HAVE!! THOSE ARE THE QUESTIONS I WANT THE ANSWERS TOO!!

WHY IS IT THAT ONLY SOME PEOPLE SHOW UP TO DRUMLINE REGULARLY!?

WHY IS IT THAT SOME PEOPLE ARE THE LAST TO ARRIVE BUT THE FIRST TO LEAVE!?
