last saturday practice

hey!

objectives:

-run all repertoire, including the national anthem.

-band members must check their uniforms and confirm that they are 100% fine with Mr. Flygt. band members must also complete shoe form.

-are there any tunes that we want to run all together (flag, majorettes, band)? from this list (2nd line? crusher, heart of steel, shout it out, spottie, varsity anthem, O, cash, spin, say my name, go lane go).

-this morning you can have the time to do what you need to do majorettes and flags. band we will run all of our tunes multiple times, hit hips and can’t hold us, and double check uniforms.

-this afternoon will be a little different. we are going to take a break like 12:15 pm – 2:00 pm. at 1:15 could drumline rehearse somewhere outside O (spot check repertoire). we are painting 9 lines on the front lawn (30 – 30) and will have the hash marked. we will be practicing our routine on the lawn from at least 3-5. we need to walk through a few drills first and then get through can’t hold us. this is the first time we have painted lines and i am not sure if it will take less or more time.

-next week is spirit week! i am proud of you all. thank you.

band: we need to memorize all of our music. we will hit everything multiple times
majorettes and flags: lets make sure we are listening to our captains!!! THEY ARE THE BEST!! we need to make sure we have the beginning of go lane go, the standard repertoire, anything else?
today lunch will be 12:15-1:15 pm. outside we will at least go until 5 with a small chance of ending early. we need to walk through our entrance and practice our entrance. we need to practice the parking lot sequence and going through the gate. then outside we will perform hips and can’t hold us many times.

today is band camp. this week is band life. #same #spread the word.

3:30-8 pm.

please bring water and snacks. it is going to be warm.

3:30 pm opening remarks, welcoming statement, schedule for september/october, google classroom, goals and objectives

4:15 pm – rehearse (new warm-up, varsity anthem, shout it out, spotty hottie, crusher, heart of steel, hips don’t lie, can’t hold us, go lane go) we will be using iPads. flags and majorettes – going from large to small to get in the gate, opening sequence before varsity anthem, high-step, 8-5, first routine of go lane go while moving forward)

7:00 pm go outside and work in parking lot

8:00 pm done (we may finish early if it is very hot)

varsity band update i hope you are ready!

camp is planned for 8/27-8/31 from 3:30 pm – 8 pm. the first 30 minutes will be talking. first home game is friday 8/31. first saturday practice is 9/1 from 9 am – 5 pm. THAT IS ALSO MY 32nd BIRTHDAY!!
